Yesterday was the 1st Anniversary for Cory and Peggy, a couple who I can call friends. They are in Florida right now, with their 4 kids and numerous members of their extended family. To Peggy, I thank the stars the day we met in March. I am truly blessed to have you, Cory, and the Minions in my life!
The Wedding of Cory and Peggy
I met Peggy at a wedding fair at the Convention Center in March, and to be honest, when I met her, I decided right then and there, that I would be the only one to photograph her special day. I adored her, she was bubbly, funny, a great person to talk to, and even though I hadn't met Cory at that point, I decided that if she chose him, I'd love hanging out with him, too!
I got to know her more as we went through all the small details of planning a wedding. We talked about dresses, wedding cakes, favors, planner. I took the engagement portraits or her and Cory, and better yet, I took the family portraits, of not just Cory and Peggy, but of their 4 kids. Peggy's two boys, Daniel and Christopher; Cory's two daughters, Autumn and Summer - otherwise known as the Minions (Daniel and Autumn) and the Littles (Christopher and Summer)
I was also blessed to get to know them on a deeper level. I spent several hours on a beautiful Friday night in September on their boat in Hastings, just relaxing, talking, drinking and eating. I got to hear their love story, and saw the deep respect, and the feeling of care and cherish that showed in both their eyes. And I was honored that they invited me to hang out with their family and friends at their rehearsal and Groom's dinner.
Their wedding was nothing less than spectacular, despite how VERY cold it was, everything was truly perfect. The fall colors were radiant, and the sun shining through the leaves made items gold and glowing. The Majestic Star, a 100-foot, 4 level yacht, was a perfect venue for a couple who loves to be on the water. With the colors of purple and pink, and the many nautical touches, everything was stunning.
Thank you Cory and Peggy for letting me share in your day. But even more importantly I want to thank you for the simple fact that I can call you "friends". I wish you both a very long and happy life. You are not each others' first loves, but I believe deep in my heart that you are each others' last.
