A Rockwall Engagement Session

   This Midwestern girl recently had the opportunity to photograph Nicole and Curtis's engagement session near the picture perfect town of Rockwall, Texas, east of Dallas.  I was expecting warm days in the 70's, afterall, I live near Minneapolis, anything over 65 is warm!  Sadly, warm was not what we got during their engagement session.  It was cold, in the upper 40's, it was a little drizzling, and it was cloudy.  I don't mind the clouds, cloud cover makes for the best light when shooting outdoors.

   Since I'm not familiar with the area, I had to trust my beautiful couple to pick out the best locations.  Did they ever!  First stop was a run down barn on the side of the road, the red, went so well with what the couple was wearing.  Second stop was an isolated road, near a horse pasture and a sheriff pose member's house, and finally, onto a cow pasture.  Now we have cow pastures here in Minnesota, but I haven't really visited one.  We actually chased the cows away from the fence opening, dodged cow pies, and I even saw a cow skull!

   Check out a few of these amazing images.  I'm still trying to figure out how to convince Curtis he needs to bring the cow skull to me when I photograph their wedding in August in my home state of Michigan....

   And yes, I DO travel for engagement sessions and weddings.  My travel fee is pretty reasonable, just ask!
