As a girl coming from the great state of Michigan, I LOVE lakes (OK, I really love the one true lake in Michigan, Lake Michigan! ~ this is strictly my opinion)  Living in Minnesota, the state of 10,000 lakes, I am blessed with abundant water.  There are lakes, streams, rivers (did you know that the Great Mississippi gets its start in this state?), and water falls galore.

   Today we're going to visit one of my favorite local lakes, and an extremely beautiful place to have a photo shoot.  I'm talking about the beautifully quaint town of Excelsior and its spot on Lake Minnetonka.

   This area has it all, great views from the dock, great views from the land. There are towering Oaks, Cottonwoods, and Maple trees that sway playfully in the breeze. The shore never seems to get too hot, and if it does seem a little warm, wading in the lake or even a quick swim does the trick of cooling people off.  Seriously, these are amazingly beautiful views of Lake Minnetonka.

   Let's not forget about the downtown area.  A mere steps from the water front lies the little city of Excelsior.  A Historic stopping place for Minneapolis residents,  people would take a trolley out to this west metro city to stroll the boardwalk, visit the amusement park and shop along Main Street (the street still carries that name)
