I love going on location for portrait sessions.  I wanted to take some time to write about some of my favorite places here in the West Metro area.  You can see more of these places in the Album titled "Locations!"

   The first place I want to write about is Cummins House, one of the few remaining Eden Prairie homesteads.  This is a BEAUTIFUL location and a great house, snuggled in a yard full of tall, old trees.  Made of Chaska brick, this home has several unique doors, walls to stand by and porches to pose on.

  Next up on our list of treasures is the newly improved Round Lake Park.  This splendid park is located across the street from the Eden Prairie Community Center.  Easy to get to; easy to enjoy.  This park has numerous places to enjoy lake backgrounds, either with or without docks.  There are LOTS of walking trails, tall majestic trees, and great spots for Senior and Family Portraits.  If you have young family members who need to have a break from the portrait activities, there's an updated playground area and a swimming beach.

   Another wonderful location is Starring Lake Park and Outdoor Education Center.  On the upper level is the AMAZING playground with some of the best slides in the area, great wooded areas and the breathtaking amphitheater and its views of the lake below.  This area alone offers numerous possibilities...

  But, head to the lower level and the Education Center and you're rewarded with bridges, a log cabin and a wonderful shade garden just waiting for a session. Although the green canopy is magical, this WILL be a great spot for Autumn pictures in the next couple of months.
