I've been asked by several couples the reason behind why I like having pre-wedding sessions.  Memories in Time Photography offers both Engagement Sessions and Pre-Bridal Sessions.  When you book one of our wedding day collections for your wedding, one of these sessions are included complimentary.

Let's start with "why".  I want to get to know you, and to be honest, you want to get to know me, too!  I'm one of the people that you will spend the most time with on your wedding day, so we should to get to know each other.  I want to learn more about you; what you love, what you find funny, what makes you "tick".  It's a great way for you and your partner to get used to being photographed.  I photograph both people who feel comfortable in front of the camera, and others who would really like to hide from a camera. With the last group, I'm really hoping that by the time we're done, the camera's no longer a "scarey torture device".

Pat and JuliaPat and JuliaImages from Pat and Julia's Pre-wedding session at St. Anthony Main Building a relationship with me with will really help with your wedding portraits.  I spend one to two hours with my couples.  We talk, we laugh, we joke, and yeah, I take photos!  I like engagement sessions to occur at a location that has meaning with my couples.  Maybe you want to re-create your first date, or go to your favorite hang out.  I've done engagement sessions at parks, on city streets, at the State Fairgrounds and even at Valleyfair!  Because your chosen location has meaning, these are often deeply cherish portraits.

As a professional photographer, I'm used to photographing all types of client, and it's why I offer a pre-wedding session with my packages.  I'm hoping to make those who want to hide, relax and enjoy their experience. I want those who already are comfortable being in front of the camera, to learn my hand signals and appreciate my strange sense of humor. Let's go and have fun, let's find a local place that means something to you, let's go capture memories!

There are so many things you can do with your engagement images.  Use images for "Save the Date" cards.  Have an album made to use as a guest book at your wedding so you can share your portraits with your family and friends.  You might want to send an engagement announcement to your local paper.  Consider giving prints to your parents, grandparents and friends.  Many of my couples have large prints made to display in their home.

My goal is to have you feel comfortable being around me.  I want you to be as relaxed as possible for your big day, and spending some time with me and getting to know me before your wedding day will help you be at ease in front of the camera.  After years of offering pre-wedding sessions, I know that these sessions are a great way to ensure we get the best portraits we can on your special day.
