This was the first same sex wedding that was posted on my blog, and boy, did you all of you love and support this couple.  Their wedding was shortly after the state of Minnesota declared same sex weddings legal.  What an honor for me to be chosen to capture the memories of their day. #TBT

The Wedding of Mike and Derek

   Mike found me last minute.  He was having a small wedding ceremony at the Arboretum, just family, a couple of friends, and his beloved, Derek.  They didn't need much, just a few portraits of their families' and of the wedding ceremony.  If you know me, you know I LOVE a good love story, and theirs definitely was a great one.

   Their first date was to a Twins' game the summer of 2012.  Mike worked at "the Arb" and Derek would show up there and surprise him with flowers. Their story is romantic, and looking at them, you can tell their relationship if filled with love, respect, and adoration.  Derek told his friends, "this one's special", and Mike, well, he told his friends the same basic thing.  They both, "just knew".  Sadly, they live a part.  Derek, in Colorado, in the US Army, Mike over a thousand miles away in Wisconsin.
