The Keto Queen
I've never really been a big carb eater. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE carbs, and I dream of doughnuts, cake and hot fresh sweet bread with warm, melty butter. With my diabetes, and my desire to live a long, happy and healthy life, I let carbs take a backseat in the way I eat.
Generally, protein is my number one food source. Give me a RARE t-bone, and I'm a pretty happy girl! Saucy baby backs, chicken wings, juicy burgers. Seriously, in my life the only thing that's better than meat is Jif Peanut Butter..
My weight's holding stable. I'm screwing around with the same 3-4 pounds. Up I go; down I go. Always hovering right around 153#. I know I look better this year at 153 than I did last year. I've dropped my body fat and I've gained muscle. It's time I get serious.
I've chosen to eat Keto, basically a low carb/high fat diet. Lots of cheese, eggs, MEAT. I eat a keto muffin in the morning along with bacon. It's so filling that I'm often not hungry at lunch. Lunch is often deli meat and cheese, and Dinner is generally what my family eats, except I skip the pasta or bread. Today I weighed 152. Let's see where I am next week...
