Where to go for your Minneapolis Senior Portraits

Where?

So, where are you going for your Senior Portraits?

I want to share with you some of my favorite locations in the West Metro.

The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

Best Times: Any morning and weekday evenings Monday - Thursday

If you haven't guessed, I love this place, it's my top location!!  There are so many different spots and looks; whether you want a barn, a stone or brick wall, a field, a beautiful flower garden, or even a forest of majestic green, "the Arb", as it's affectionately known, has a little bit of everything.

As a professional photographer, I respect the Arb and I do have a photographer's pass.  This allows me access to the grounds, and it lets my client's and their families in for free.  If this is the spot you choose for your session with me, I want to invite you to stay after your session, enjoy the grounds and grab a bite to eat at the cafe.

Downtown Carver

Best Times:  Pretty much any time, but evening has the best light

This is the quaint little town that time forgot.  Between buildings made of Chaska Brick and the beautiful colors of Gregg's Garage, there are numerous backgrounds that make for stunning images.  Want trees and a place to shoot with your car or sports equipment? It's just a few blocks away.

Wayzata and Excelsior

Best Times: Weekday and Sunday mornings because all other times are crazy busy in the summer and fall!

Two more quaint little towns, each with their own personality.  Wayzata is a quaint city with a GREAT water view.  It gives some great urban vibes without needing to drive to downtown Minneapolis.  Cute shops, docks on the water, and an adorable train station.  Excelsior is it's laid back cousin.  Shops with their own little quirks, beautiful brick walls, and a photogenic water front.

Lake Harriet

Best Times: Weekday mornings and Weekday evenings when there isn't a concert at the Bandshell.

The Lake Harriet Bandshell and the surrounding area has been a great "go-to" for portraits of all kinds; whether Senior Portraits, Prom pics or family portraits with the dog.
